Leslie beautifully captured a moment of reflection and I’m really excited to have an oil portrait of Orla to hang on my wall.

Guide to commissions
This painting of Orla was commissioned after an exhibition of four of my first oil portraits. My client wanted a traditional portrait that captured her daughter as a young girl. Orla, a typical young girl, loves dressing up and wearing pretty headdresses and costumes. I wanted to portray this in her portrait and the feathers give it a more contemporary feel.
Producing a work of art on commission for someone is of course, a relationship, understanding what is in the mind of the client and what is in my mind can produce some interesting work.
I work in oil paint and thus paintings can take some time to complete. Layers have to be built up and dried before another layer can be applied. Some oil paintings take months to dry properly, so please bear this in mind if you are considering a piece of work for yourself.
Please contact me for more details and breakdown of the process going forward.
